Imaging Sonar
Imaging sonar technology is indispensable to any remote operated vehicle (ROV) system. It gives the operator the ability to "see" beyond the limits of changing underwater conditions. |

 |
Sector Scan Sonar
This type of sonar is often used for ROV navigation in conjunction with profiling sonar to create models of structures underwater. |
|
 |
Profiling Sonar
Profiling sonar uses a narrow beam that makes it ideal for measuring and creating cross sections of underwater structures, such as tunnels. |

Side-Scan Sonar
Hibbard Inshore deploys side scan sonar by towing a "fish" at slow speeds behind a ship. It is commonly used to map the features of broad areas of river and lake bottoms. |

Sub-Bottom Sonar
Sub-Bottom is typically vessel mounted and uses very low frequency to penetrate lake bottom, river bottom, or seafloor. This technology, depending on the system, can see hundreds of feet through bottom material or image shallow sediment layers and locate buried pipes and structures. |
